My boy just bought a 02 close out model. He wanted to know. What is the lodest pipe he can get for the bike with good performance. I think he is looking at slip ons initially. TIA

from what i hear DandD is the loudest for litre bikes, like i know a guy that has a 1000 and is taking off his full DandD system because he says he gets a headache whenever he rides. and no offense but he isnt "old" ya know

A friend installed a HMF race only high pipe on his 03' 1K. It's loud as h*ll and has a good bark.

I have to agree with the rest of the guys. D&D is by-far one of the loudest...if not THE loudest pipes out there. But you must realize that you get different sounds from different bikes. I've never heard the D&D on a Gixx1000, but one of my homies has D&D's on his Busa, and it sounds awesome. I have a co-worker who has a ZX9 with a Muzzy and that poop is tremendously loud. A Micron also sounds good on a ZX9. If D&D made an oval cannister, I would have gone with it. I don't much care for the 'round' look of the D&D because it looks too much like stock. I'm a Yoshimura man myself. I love the oval cannister and the way the pipes angle inward to give more clearance in the twisties. Just my .02, but it can sometime be worth a million bucks.

D & D for sure, no doubt, and yes, you will get a headache riding for longer than an hour straight. Nothing beats the sound though.

In scandinavian BIKE magazine the Micron slip on was the loudest of 10 diffrent brands. (No myzzy, HMF or D&D in that test)
The slip-ons was tested on a gixxer and the micron had 108dB at 6000rpm.
Good deep (and loud) growling is my experience of the Micron systems.

I had a full D&D 4-2-2 on the busa and it was awesome. It sounded good. It was very loud though. But when I had my katana I had a d&d slipon on that and it was a totally different tone, Annoying is the word that I am looking for. But it sounded awesome on the busa. I have a Yosh 4-2-1 now.
