I’m replacing all the colored trim with motocomposites carbon fiber but my front piece, well the holes for the screws were not big enough for the screw. So I tried making the opening a tiny bit wider with a pointed screw which allowed me to to get the regular screw started. But when the screw was almost completely in, it blew up from the pressure. Somehow I sensed feel down this was gonna happen. I wrote the company and waiting to see what they say. Now I have an unfinished mess to wait on.

Damn... Sorry to see that.
For any aftermarket fairing type parts,. I always run them through with a drill bit first.
Then a dob of rubber grease and work my way in back and forward till it hits home.

I agree epoxy it and move on. Also +1 with the proper drill bit size life would have been simple on this

Join the club. I've also epoxied in washers, used super glues, oversized screw heads, etc. I've also said screw it and bought new pieces over the past years.

any updates with your carbon fiber set up?
I have not heard back from them but I am going to leave it as is. I did epoxy it and I don’t want to take it apart again ever lol it was not easy doing the front end. If I could do it over I would have gotten gloss to get the depth. Otherwise I’m generally happy.
