Petcock leaking

So i replaced my fuel pump and when i was taking the 3/8" fuel hose off the petcock, instead of the hose coming off, the whole barb from the petcock came out.. I ended up getting the barb out of the hose and tried taping it back in the petcock, yet it has a slow leak. Has anyone encountered this problem or have any suggestions? I did tap the barb in enough where it shouldn't leak. I guess i can try taping it in a few MM more. Any suggestions?

I did the samething but mine didnt leak..all i did was push it back in..pull it back out to make sure the fitting dont look bent..maybe it has a barb on the end making it not seal..
