There's a couple GPS units that are made for vehicles/motorcycles. They all seem to run about 300 dollars for the actual unit then a monthly fee of 15 dollars or so for the service. Most of the ones I checked allow you unlimited SMS messages so you can see where your bike has been and where it is going. Some of the units will allow you to alarm it and then if the bike is moved more than 20 feet an automatic message is sent to you.

GPS Snitch is one product

While a Tracker, GPS, etc would be great to find & maybe get your bike, car, truck, boat, whatever back if it was ever stolen. Just think about other people, agencys, etc that would know where you and your bike might be, how fast your going, what bar you just left, what stores you go to, where all your friends live. Thats a big no thanks for me!

PS dont you think its strange that Chevrolet has had OnStar all these years "to help you in the event of an emergency" and now Chevrolet is owned by are goverment? Another big no thanks for me!

Carefull what you wish for, it just may come true!

I have looked into the "Snitch." It's just expensive for the unit and the monthly charge.

But the device on my dog is tiny! You can hid it on your bike without a problem. You would find your bike before anyone even had a chance to discover it was being tracked.

Hmmm by the time you may find it maybe striped to the bone.Unless if yours stolen are not done by professionals. Its costly too, never ending payment for subscription not mentioning the item itself.

I prefer other kinds of prevention and detterence to thiefs.End of the day your decision:laugh:

Does your puppy have the injectable pill shaped unit?

Well... the garage door to the inside of the house is left open at night and my dogs have free run of the house... That always makes for a pretty good deterrence.

No, they have the ones that attach to the collars. I went with the cheaper route. They do have the microchips in case they end up at the pound or a vet.

Never thought about it, but the hunters around here put tracking collars on their dogs, don't know the range, probably cheap.

You always have the LoJack systems, providing they have coverage in your area.
I don't have one because, unfortunatly, they DON'T have coverage here in the sticks.

see see....and on another post i suggested the concept of a hidden cell phone.. with gps locator...this pet concept too would work... and why not have it in the seat pan...ie in the foam. no stripper would find that...(mabey if you put a dollar bill in with it too)

Some say that the pro-thieves carry an EF signal detector when heisting bikes so that they can search and find it quickly...But if it is a little device it would not be easy to find. But it kind of makes you wonder what the available range on one of these is being so small...I'm just sayin...2hip
