Okay to use a diffrent year ecm in a 2001?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether its ok to use a 99ECM in my 2001, i can't find a previous post that answers this question. Are there any other year ecms i can use in my 01?

I think the programming might be different... try to contact goldenchild... Johnny Cheese is the guy I would talk with on this, but he hasn't been around in awhile...
Can anybody help gymrat out?

Dont think that will work,99-00=16 bit,2001 & up =32 bit

No it will NOT work!!!!! 99 and 00 are the same, 01 is all by its self, 02 and up are also different.
For a 01 without changing alot of sensors you'll need to find and 01!!! Sorry Man
