I just took loose the bottom of the right side just enough to pull it apart to slide the old filter out and the new filter in. I used the bottom fairing vent opening to tighten and loosen the filter. Only real problem with this method is it makes a mess and the bike will smoke awhile burning off all the oil you spill on the header…………. But works. 1 tip I will give using this method is buy the K&N (part # KN-138) oil filter because it as a built in bolt head so you can use a box end wrench.
