Neutral light intermittent

Gen 2 neutral (0)started working intermittently on dash after winter lay up,no work has been done and was working perfectly before any thoughts on fault ,still starts and runs fine

I think they all periodically do this. Mine has since new. Infrequent, but happens.

Bad gear selector, Live with it or replace it.

Thanks Getn off and gixerhp, what's involved in changing gear selector ,or if I leave it will it get worse and stop the bike from starting or running properly thanks

Mine hasn't gotten any worse. Every once in a while while downshifting it seems to miss and goes blank. I have to release the clutch and it will "catch" and show what gear and I can place it in the correct gear and be on my way. Has not been such a big deal for me to think much about it honestly.

Just an update on this I had the front sprocket cover off for a bit of cleaning and put it all back together in the same position as it was and now all seems good. Could understand if gear lever was put back in different position . Have no idea if this is a coincidence or what is going on as it was intermittent anyway !!!!!!

watch the wire that comes from RH , the gear-ps.

it connects to the main harness directly above the cover - perhaps you had a loose contact (or cable break) there at its connection point
