mobil 1 and wet clutches

according to mobils tech dept, they would rather we use their 4T 15w50 full synthetic bike oil, theory is that the mobil 1 range has friction modifiers which might cause 'wet' clutches to slip ! unusal though ,I ran it in my zx11 for 4-5 years and no problems even with many hard launches, was I lucky? But if they are correct and since now I prefer to use a '40' oil then Shell has 'Advance Ultra 4' which,is a 10w40 (as the owners book recommends) which is also fully synthetic and ok with wet clutches.

Mobil changed their formulation during the last year to meet the new sj standards. The old Mobile syn was fine, I just think the new sj is not the hot setup for starters and wet clutches. I would stay with a motorcycle specific oil these days.
