So, a friend of mine just got an old 600 to learn on, and wanted me to teach him. He wanted to ride the parkway a bit... okay, he said he's ridden it before and I told him NOT to try and keep up if I got ahead... cause he'd probably wreck. He didn't, he at least knew better. So, we end up pulling off for a sec, when I here a V-twin sportbike off in the distance... hmmm, lets see what it is...
DAYUMMM!!! Ducati 916! Rider in full leathers. Rare site around here. So he dissappears, when I hear ANOTHER coming... couple seconds later, he passed us. 916, full leathers AGAIN! Passed us... Then a 749! And Another 916! 7 Duc's in all. So, Jon and I look at each other and say "There must be a Duc convention, lets see if we can catch up!"So we get on the rode, not pushing it (didn't want to kill Jon trying to keep up) When the VFR comes up behind us. I wave him by, then I decide to follow him some (Jon and I had a rendevous point set up). Finally found them where the parkway ends in Waynesboro (where we were headed) and got to talking with them. Pretty cool guys. I showed them back to the Hotel, and we chatted some in the Parking Lot. Turns out, they rode 500 miles today, found the place on Motorcycleroads.com . I told them of some good roads, and told the guy with the VFR how to get to the local Honda shop (His bike flipped on the trailer on the way down from New York, and he needed a mirror.) All in all, they were pretty cool guys. Gave my friend some riding tips, and told him to pick up "Twist of the Wrist" by Keith Code. It'd be awesome to meet up with these guys again if they come down this way, awesome riders. I told them how out of place it is for serious riders in this area. It's rare to see a cool bike and a rider in GEAR! Especially full leathers! ESPECIALLY carving turns like these guys.
Anywho, that was my evening, how about yous guys? lol
