It's amazing what strange things you'll learn while wasting time at work! Did you know that Tigers and Lions can crossbreed? Yep. The results are either a Liger or a Tigon.

Ligers get to be HUGE and are the product of a Lion father and a Tigress mother.

Tigons are very small and are the product of a Tiger father and a Lioness mother.
All about Tigons

They also have other cross-breeds. Whoda Thunkit?

Kind of weird that the big Liger photographed has an "estimated weight of 800-1200 lb." Can't they get a bit more of an accurate weight than that? I also wonder why they get so big since tigers usually go in the 500 lb range while lions go in the 400 lb range. Weird that the two crossed would make 800+ lb. offspring.

Yep....saw one of those on a show.

Those fuggers are huge...huge all around. One dude stood on a ten foot ladder...and held a treat out. Was really suprised when the fugger got up on his hind legs and was able to reach the dude on top of the ladder.
