they have alot of guts to ask some thing like that...feels like I'm watching Dumb and Dumber...or they've seen too many movies, so now they got cofused to reality and movie...I don't know, I got confused now, but the only thing I'm sure is, they ask for it? and they got it...

They are F/N morons for going to a place like that.
Take em to freaking Disney World if you want a vacation!
The woreld is full of them!!

I agree with your rant. They went there (per the article) for a vacation and to have their kid baptised. It is well known that it it still dangerous in that area. If they were willing to take the risk of going there, then they should be willing to keep their mouths shut and stop complaining when all heck breaks loose. They are "victims" of their own decisions.

Put your signs down and patiently wait your turn. There are apparently 25,000 other "adventurers" like yourself (per the article) potentially waiting in line to get out also.

Stupid hurts sometimes... (I hope they get out okay, just don't whine/blame the US Govt for their mistakes)

Agree

Why the f would any one go to visit there unless they had heritage there? Did not read the article, but my parents would have had a hell of a time getting me on a plane there.

Ok read the article. Still. I think they should take full responsibility.

1. OK, well this conflict has been brewing for about a month now ever since they snagged the Israeli soldier. I know it wasn't Lebanon that took him but when Israel started tuning up the tanks and polishing their weapons I think that should have raised a red flag.

2. The price of oil hit a record high even though none of the contries involved are oil producers but it was because of the possible outbreak of total pandemonium. So if a bunch of money hungry oil brokers can see it coming then shame on them.

3. If they were in Lebanon before all this started then they must have more dough than they know what to do with, which in turn they should arrange for private transportation.

4. The kids should offer to sell the parents to pay their way out.

5. And little Johnny Vacationer should learn to play with others, I'll bet every kids his age has an AK47 and knows how to use it. I knew letting our kids camp out on the couch playing war games would spoil them, when a real war breaks out they don't have a clue what to do. Thank you XBOX!

IDIOTS find a cool zone and hide out.

Sheesh I went snorkling during the Philipine cou. Another friend was caught in the jungle trying to get back. We told him not to go.

Well it sounds like they lived there from 1993 to 2001, and the husbands family is from the area, so its not like they just took a trip over there to see if they could find some trouble I'm thinking. The area has been full of issues for many years, and as it may have not been a great idea to take kids over there, I think they had just as much right to visit that area, as someone had the right to visit New Orleans before bad weather came through last year. Never know when and where stuff is gona hit the fan. Oh, and I think you have better odds of being killed in New Orleans than you do in Lebanon. Anyhow, on to more important matters....Does anyone believe the latest Oprah story...Now there is some serious news.

Disclaimer: My dry sense of humor may not be understood by anyone except myself....lmao

I agree with you also Captain.  But don't agree with comments like these.

I think it's the same as the American civilians going to Iraq to work... or as they like to say "to help rebuild"... which is a cute way of saying they are there to reap the benefits and make huge money. The Nick Berg case is a prime example. No, he didn't "deserve" what happened... but it shouldn't come as a shock that he was captured.

Apples and oranges.  Yeah... I'm one of those working in Iraq making well into the six figures.... or should I say reaping the benefits.  Geez...

I spent 21 years on active duty with the US Army and paid my dues serving my country.  We all come here knowing the dangers of war and terrorism.  Who are you to criticize...?  What does this have to do with that..?    If all civilians working in Iraq as contractors would leave tomorrow.... our airmen, marines, sailors and soldiers would be in a world of hurt.  You obviously don't know half of what civilians in Iraq do for our country.  So best go wash your Busa and don't be mad cuz KBR won't hire you.

I agree 100%...when the news broke that there are so many Americans there, my first thoughts were "WHY are they there?!"

Get 'em out, sure...and I hate that kids are being raised in a place like that, but good grief, get smart and find another place to live

My Bro Went to Lebanon for a few days about two months ago. It's one of the most beautiful places in the region. And the WOMEN??? OMG... So there are some real reasons to visit Lebanon, you just need to make some contingency plans.

Isreal? They Suck too, no real gems there.

But going into that area, knowing the history of the region, being surprised by hostilities is pretty fuggin pathetic. You have to have a plan, then act. Not sit around Boo-Hooing cause there are problems.

Orthodox Church in Jbail Lebanon, Yup there are Christians scattered throughout the region. "Jbail is a wonderful place for history nerds. Excavations show settlements going back 7000 years and most of that time was spent as a critical trading center. It's seen: Amorites, Canaanites, Egyptian pharaohs, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, early Muslims, Crusaders, Mamelukes and Ottomans."

And Yeah, Beirut looks like a real hell hole don't it?

The media paints pictures based on political goals. But this place looks pretty darn nice and according to my Bro he was treated extremely well.
