who would have thought. I have a 04 busa and recently it started cutting out at 9000rpm. After some googling the problem I followed a link to hayabusa.org and a recomendation that the safety switch on the kickstand might be the problem. I looked into it and bent the little tab that contacts the switch... To my disbelief the fix worked.. THANK YOU HAYABUSA.ORG.
If your having the same problem check this before you drop money on a sensor or fuel system part.

Welcome, had the same thing happen to me earlier this week, my stand had a ton of wear(years of rotating it on the stand due to an ex that couldnt park, or follow directions on how to park so i could get out of the garage:laugh:) Resurfaced the mount and stand and "adjusted" the tab, good as new!!

Happened to my father in law.he didnt figure it out untill after he pushed the bike home. His kickstand was loose. He rarely does any maintenance on his intruder 1600 so I give him crap about checking the bike out once in a while.
