Just got the BUSA!!!!!!!!!!

WOW the first time mounting it was just like climbing into a ferrari. It so low and low seat height and just looks small and compact. wow, it just feels and looks like a toy, but with a mean attitude. I have not taken it past 5500 rpm and that was in 2nd gear, the thing launches, and that was not even half throttle.

The PCUSB and TRE came in today great timing. It was crazy how many looks I got from people in cars. My gf rode it and got kisses blown at her from 3 diff guys, and just even for her to pull up in the gas station to put gas, 2 or 3 guys came up looking at it and said something like, 'I never seen a girl ride one of these before, and that he is a Harley man, but the only bike that scared him was the Busa.

when riding, what is the normal temperature it should be at? It is at the Halfway mark between H and C and gets barely above H mark when at stop and fan kicks in, is this normal? also it shut out on me twice, just turned off. is it running too hot?
Also, how do i check the radiator to see if there is liquid inside. please don't tell me i have to remove the fairings nooooooo lol

Bike should run right there in the middle of the Temp gauge so that sounds good.

You know what I would do? Seriously? Take it to the Local Suzuki Dealer, let them know you bought it recently and just want to have it checked over good. Get the fluids checked, chain lubed, Oil Changed, Etc... Have it given the once over at least fo ryour piece of mind ya know...

Your Busa shouldn't just be shutting off. Is it possible your hitting the kill switch accidentally?

Enjoy the bike man, but I would just get it looked at for the piece of mind...

My temp gauge always stays at just a hair below the halfway mark. The fan will kick on just past the same halfway mark. If your fan is waiting to reach the H before kicking on, I would say that you are running too hot.
 
Busa's normally run the temp gauge a tick below 1\2, but in traffic and stopped...it goes up a little past half--fan kicks on. And Welcome...You may be able to see coolant level in the bottle on the left side...without pulling the fairing..pry out abit or just loosen a few screws...bottom pan and the one closet to the foot peg....
Ride safe..Busa is a pussycat or the devil..your call...
 
cool the great guys. It sounds normal then its just at the halfway mark at idle, then just below when driving, then at idle too long it gets just above halfway mark and fan kicks on. But it would hurt to have suzuki change the fluids next week also.

thanks alot guys, this has to be the greatest busa forum for real because anywhere else I post would be knocking the guy down except helping, or atleast post lol. Anyways thats cool.

I am amazed how 6th gear pulls too, I was soo happy!! I will write more tomorrow!!!
 
The reason it may be cutting off on you is your idle may be to low. Whats it idle at? It should be atleast 1150rpm.

The fan thing is normal.... the die thing is prob the idle. Mine was low and stumbled. Set it 1100-1200. You will be surprised how much nicer it moves away form a stop. Also check the slack in the throttle. Wait till you take it to 10,000!!!!!!!! Oh... and i wouldnt wait to long to do that. Get it all nice and warm and wack that puppy. Loafing along will keep the rings from seating. sj

Yup, check the idle speed, and get used to removing the fairings, it's not that bad

The bike idles at around 800 and 900 so thats why it died out on me. I rode around for a while and it was so great. Very hard to drive the speed limit, its not even the urge to drive faster, but that the bike easily creeps up in the mph and your doing 80 thinking you are doing 60 LOL.

Finally I came across some bikers at a gas station, a few where stunters. Watched as they were adjusting the clutch on the gsxr750 then left for home.
 
Glad you got it. Definitely take in to your local dealer and have them do a once over.
 
I installed the TRE and hopefully I put it in the right spot lol, the Flight Indicator (FI) light came is always on now, and if my mind is not playing tricks on me, there is no choppiness in the lower gears, just toooo smooth. Is this normal?

Wear is the 'fast idlie' lever or dial so I can test to see if it works. If its any help, I installed under the tank, behind the engine directly onto the black plug that is the same triangle shape. the plug itself its tightly fasted in its position by ties. But it has to be it becuase its in the right area, and same shape. Pics to come real soon guys :-)
 
hey n/m I found the right one earlier like 10 mins after my post. Didn't get a chance to feel out the stock, but at least its working and just makes everything better.

Had my first 2 mini wheelies just now, I weight 165lbs and my friend weighs 212lbs. I take him for a spin not even full throttle (no balls for WOT in 1gear & 2gear) the bikes is starting to lift at about 7-8k on the tach. The tire start skipping from side to side because I am just holding the throttle, not feeding it and it wanted to come up so bad! The jerk felt from the torque is insane in every gear with 2 people. im still learning this power lol...its fun :-D
