If I get rid of the CAT and install this mid pipe on my Z

Terry, if it was me, I'd fit that mid pipe, fit a new set of plugs, run the bike around around a local circuit (one of your loops) for say . . 10 miles, then pull the plugs and read the mixture according to the color of the plugs.
Then you will know if it needs to be tuned if it's rich or lean, and if the color looks nice, job done!
Way less restriction thru that pipe than the OEM catalyst, should run a whole nicer too.
Oh and it's gonna look way nicer too!

I don't see a provision for an O2 sensor in that mid pipe. Is there one downstream of the cat? If so you'll need to have it tuned off or put a fooler on.

Its upstream
