If you do like the licorice taste, try Turkish Oozo. It's about %35 alcohol, and %15 Opium. It's illegal in the U.S. and probably Canada. I took me about a year of the drinking habit to be able to down a whole 5th in one night. I never got hangovers, just rude awakenings!
