I think its 78 $ an hour here, but I didn’t pay for it by the hour
I was smart and got prepaid maintenance when i bought the bike, all i had to pay for was the tire and the labor to put it on, anything that went over the prepaid maintenance they had to absorb
yea that could explain a bit of the bad attitude about working on the bike..

Really it is hard to judge a good tech by his "spirit".. some of the very best I have ever known have been just outright awful to deal with.. When a guy reaches the peak of that profession, confidence is really important as every day brings on new challenges and problems.. when things go tougher than expected, it tends to get under the skin as it is costing you money.. and usually a lot of it..

take the guy a coke next time.. we get lonely in the back and the job can seem pretty thankless at times.. doing stuff not very many people ever get "really good at"

It sounds like he is confident. That is why when it took longer then it should have he was put in a bad mood. I know I would have been pissed if I know what I am doing and it still takes longer then the book says it should.
