I had the same problem with the noise in the motor and talked to some people at a Suzuki dealer if the noise was coming from the cam chain if I changed my oil from 10W-40 to 20W-50 if that would help the tensioner push out more on the chain and they said it might. So I changed my oil the other day and it stoped that noise and made the hole motor quieter. Oil I am using is 20W-50 Castrol syntec. Yes I know that oil is about $5 a quart but it's worth it to me. Syntec will not hurt the clutch because I have a 1993 ZX-11 and bought it new and at the first oil change I put syntec in it and have no problems with it even at the dragstrip.
