Health care plan in front of congress

Oh boy this rocks... here are a few of the things in this 1000+ page bill that is being rocketed through by the Dems....

Mandatory insurance for ALL tax payers.. (no exceptions)

business's with less than $500K in payroll are exempt from providing this coverage.

ALL employees (even if employed by above) MUST have insurance or you will be fined 2.5% of your taxable income (AGI) and this does not imply any insurance coverage, it is only a fine for not having insurance...

this is an amazing left handed tax increase...

Obama healthcare reform... (hmm bend over and cough please)

So if you can't afford to purchase health insurance you would then have to buy the government health insurance plan, and the fine doesn't go toward the government plan?

Why not just take it out of their taxes to begin with?

Isn't this like handing the insurance companies a blank check by making it a mandatory purchase? Are there going to be caps on what the insurance companies can charge for "mandatory insurance coverage"?

Is it only for legal citizens or anyone with a job?

I'm not supporting any health care reform that does not include a standardized price listing for services, procedures, tests and treatments, and the ability for health care providers to advertise their services based on price.

I want the ability to price shop as much as I can. I can go to my dentist and he can tell me exactly how much my root canal or implant will be, then shop around and compare prices. Try doing that with a medical procedure or lab test. Let the market drive down the cost. That's health care reform... make things transparent. Going to the doctor is like talking to the great and powerful OZ.

from the way I understand this, ANY taxpayer without health insurance is liable to a 2.5% fine directly proportionate to their adjusted income.. So yea, if you can not afford insurance or just do not want it, you are going to pay 2.5% to the Govt not the insurance industry for not having a policy..

It is outrageous IMHO... I have insurance and it currently wont affect me but I would be genuinely pisssed if I worked for a company that has payroll under the $500K limit making liveable wages (barely) and now the Obama healthcare comes in and nails me for 2.5% of my take home pay because I can not afford $400 a month insurance..

that makes all the sense of electing a socialist to office... They wanted change and they got it coming.... really amazing if you ask me...

So tell me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, How is this Hope and Change working for you Bogus?

Actually, it may affect your insurance? If your employer decides that the private insurance policy is more than 8% of your payroll, he may just drop the program all together, dump you onto the government program and pay the 8% penalty? Now you too can stand in line behind every farm worker with 8 kids and four of them have a snotty nose in order to get to a doctor. Which won't be your doctor of choice, you will be appointed a doctor. I can see spending long hours in a waiting room if you are sick.

I think Nancy Peloci is dragging the democrates over a cliff.

If you are not worried, you should be! The dollar has lost 16% of it's value this year and there is no signs of any stability. Look at the price of the new Busa MSRP $16,299! And gents, that doesn't include shipping and setup!

There is some light to be seen. The Obama administration is not going to empliment the Health Care Program until 2013. They want to wait until after the 2012 presidental election so Obama can be re-elected. However, they are going to begin collecting the taxes right away so the program will be prepaid, so to speak.

Them Democrats,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they are some sly little rats! :moon:

I haven't read the bill, but I think if you do have insurance you will be taxed as well.

knowing the demographic of the average Dem voter? they are going to be the most hard hit by this abomination of a bill...

when they start complaining? I am going to laugh.. (can not do much else).. Maybe some of the free ride is going to be carried by someone other than the small business owner? (yea right)...

We should not expect so much from our leader. It's very difficult to perform flawlessly at the quarterback position in the NFL when you've never even played a highschool game!

so you get fined on your taxable income when most of the uninsured have none ???
