Hayabusa fuel pump for offroad race car

I have a offroad race buggy with a 03 busa motor. Im having a problem with the fuel pump. I have to suck the fuel out of a Jazz fuel cell its not gravity feed. Im using a Airtex pump 45-65 psi to a pressure regulator with a return regulating it to 43psi but it seems to be running lean. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Is it vented(fuel cell)?turn pressure up a little see if it helps.

Yes it is vented. After my first moto it was cutting out. So I turned the it up to 50psi. The second moto it didnt cut out but the motor got hot.
