I share most everyone's sentiment, but I hate to point out the long term reality: at some point in time, there will be another democratic President/congress... if history is any indication...

Democrats pushing the country towards socialism, then Republicans push it a little back - two steps to socialism, one step back. While this historical dance goes on, Democrats screwing the country one way, then Republicans manage to screw up the country another way. In the long run, no matter which party holds power things are steadily going downhill, the people get more divided, and the country is zigzagging more and more. Don't count that this process will change its course by itself.
Some years from now, we will have a Déjà Vu, and will be at it again.
Using sportbike terminology - I would call such zigzagging a historical head shake leading to a full blown tankslapper, in turn leading to a crash.
Something more fundamental has to change.
