(Ninja Eater @ May 14 2007,12:57) Oh and you will get about 400  different replys on the type of oil.  Most are all good.  We ran a comparison some time back.

I use Mobil one use to be red cap which is the same as MX4T now it is Gold 15w 50.  Still less then MX4T
Mobile 1 keeps changing things around.
Red cap used to be the good stuff but that went to dino oil. Gold cap was now the good stuff for like the past 2 years but when I went to pick up 4 quarts back in March it was rated Energy Conserving in the API Crescent! And as you said it's 15W50, 10W40 is not available anymore in gold cap.

So I walked over to the Castrol Syntech but they only had 3 quarts.

Said to hell with it and picked up 4 quarts of the Mobile 1 MX4T. Never thought I'd do something so incredibly stupid as to buy "motorcycle specific" oil, but I would have wasted more in gas going somewhere else trying to save $8.00 bucks.

I've also noticed that 10W40 is getting harder and harder to find as the thinner weight oils become common. One day we're going to have no other choice than to go to the dealer.

This has been post about a bajillion times but it is a good read! Grab a six pack and enjoy.

BTW: Mobil 1 Mx4t gets my vote! No it aint the same as the Mobil 1 car oil! I may have to look into the Amsoil though. The Mx4t is tough to find around these parts!
