front suspension problem

[1127 TO 1299]

The from suspension on my '01 goes all the way to the end of its course when I hit a bump llike a 2-3" recessed manhole cover.

I'm not sure but I think it might be due to the fact that the bike was stretch on a towing platform.

Could it be fixed by adjusting the damping or the rebound or do i need new coils? I don't see any sign on damage seal on the forks.

The bike has only 5000 miles.

Any clues?

the rebound should have nothing to do with how fast it compresses. try Adjusting the damping higher
