Hey All

I am thinking of extending the swingarm on my 03 Busa.

I wanted to know if there is one that I could buy that is not for a larger wheel.

Also I have looked at the extension blocks that are available. And all though the prices are attractive, they seem a bit un-safe.:vuur1:

So, I was looking for the full swingarm.
A full Kit if possable. (swingarm, chain, chain guard. . . . etc.)

Thanks.

what do you mean .....larger wheel. 99% of the aftermarket swingarms are for a stock wheel. Are you talking about a fat tire kit?

Yes... Sorry:banghead:

I'm looking for a swingarm for a stock wheel. I don't want the fat tire kit.

There are plenty of manufacturers that make extended swingarms. A few of the companys you can call are McIntosh, Adams, and there are a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

The bolt on extensions work very well. I have the roaring toys bolt on extensions on my 08 and I have drag raced it for the last 2 years and no problems. I check them about every 20 runs or so and they are still holding up very well.

depends if you want to ever go back to stock, if so the bolt ons. I "personally" dont feel safe with them but there are plenty of people that are pleased with them. if you do the bolt ons just dont skimp and buy the cheap ebay ones, get em from some one reputable. I done my last are through thompson cycles and are more than pleased with it and will be using them again this winter for another one.

Yep

You wont have any problems with extensions, Or I should say I havent heard of anyone having issues with them, Just make sure there made of 6061 Billet ( god I hope that number is right ) I had them on Misty for a year before going to the 240 kit and had no issues at all..

The 240 on her does look nice

If you have the money get an extended swingarm. I could not ride on an extension just because there are hints of worry out there. Ive been tempted to get a 2-4 inch stretch but i have no need. maybe someday if I want a new swingarm

a good set of bolt-on extensions will be safe. Mine have 3 years on them, both street and dragstrip time....both nitrous and non-nitrous use as well.

if you truly do not want to use bolt-ons, you can also have a stock swingarm extended. I had one done by Spencer Cycle, it was around $450.00 and it was really top notch.

I have been running with extensions on my 02 for three years. No problems here bro. I did reinforce with loc-tite as a safety measure. I check for tightness every month or so and have yet to find one of the bolts loose.

I think it's just that they look kinda flimsy, maybe?
That and as far as I can tell, they are bolted with 2 bolts.

OBVIOUSLY strong enough tho.
They have been around for a while, and I have never heard of a failure.

No way I would use them, but I overkill everything.
