exhaust note

anyone have an opinion on the most quiet exahust mufllers that are out there. I know stock is the quietest but I dont like the size of the cans. By the way its for a 2008. Thanks

most aftermarket systems tend to be louder than the OE system. You may want to look at a UK street legal slip-on system. They'll probably be pretty quiet.

The lower you keep the revs the less noise you'll get.

they are powdercoated, which took about 4 hours total with the prep work (my first time) but well worth it.

I have the yoshi trs I love the look and the sound not louder in my opinion just better.

I really REALLY wish I could keep the quiet notes of the stock...but I kinda went the other direction (straight dump pipe, no baffle )

Baffle in 108db and 155hp baffle out 110db and 170 hp SO YEAH, baffle OUT.

If only the stock pipes from the manufacturer looked better (B-King)

So i can get the mid-pipes and entire muffler powder coated and it will hold up to the heat?

if you shorten the can it wll be louder and have a different exhaust note to it.

Powder coating is very strong and the heat isn't so bad from the mids back to the cans.

I have had no problems with heat on mine just make sure you get the high temp powder.

I going to the powder coater today. One more thing do i need to take apart the muffler to get them coated. It looks like there are allen head bolts on the back of the can, do these come out?

bvh56, the allen heads are tack welded in place(so they won't leave the bike,or you to tamper with) Dremel them open with a thin cut-off wheel (stone type material),taking your time!

to a point, you could empty the entire can like mine and they will get really loud.

My Yoshinmura R77 slip ons are just right. I didn't want loud volumes either and these sound terrific even without the baffles installed. Almost like an exotic sports car. I highly recommend.
