Trust me man, I know how bad this sucks. But if you have zero or very minor fairing damage that's no big deal. HEll, most of us drop the bike when we're not even riding. At least you were getting your use out of it. So----under mirror scratch?----Krylon fusion satin black. Better yet, take those ugly line interfering sumbeeches off and go with a bar end mirror. Loose a pound and look so much more sleeker. Footpeg feeler busted off? ---that's what it's for. I usually take those off right away anyhow. If it really bothers you, you should have a set of Vortex rearsets on there anyway. $400, much lighter than stock and look cool plus you might gain a smidgen of cornering clearance but I've measured and it looks like not much if you take into consideration the bevel on the tip of the OEM pegs. Get a set anyway. They're cool. Mufffler? SHEET!!!! You weren't going to use that were you? Get you a nice Brocks exhaust ASAP. Don't worry about it. That OEM muffler is worth zip if you have to pay for shipping and nobody wants it now anyway. Put in the OEM parts box and go full systen Brocks. Couple thou. You need that though. You really do. OEM exhausts suck. You will feel the reduction in weight immediately and it sounds so nice. You don't want that stock exhaust man. Sucks donkey.

It will cost you but do it all ASAP. Enjoy your mods as for as much time as possible

I am so happy to not hear that you were injured. real eye opener, hey? Take it to heart and get back on there and ride. Shoot, I busted up my busa worse dropping it in the driveway. You got off easy on this one man. It was like a magic warning. I'm glad for you but still sympathize with the shock of dropping a new bike. It really is OK though.

thank you all for your support and kindness. this is a reason, although I didnt tell anyone in family/friends, I brought to this forum( of busa bros). now feeling much better, not that I learned dropping a bike is common, it is your kind words and camaraderie.

I was fully geared for the weather on that day (around 36 - 58 F) in layers of mesh jacket and pant, AS shoes and baclava[hehehe not the sweet] balaclava. was using the FieldSheer battery operated heated glove ( warning: dont buy, even at lowest setting it didnt last 2-3 hours of riding).

yes glad no injury to me, although I rolled once after the drop(might be the shock of dropping a new bike in the middle of a street, after many many years. LOL)

I'm really enjoying the new busa. since getting it end of Aug'22 I have already put 2900miles through solo soul searching and 4 group rides. now through March, riding opportunities will be limited in the pacific north west.

I will look into vortex rearsets, bar end mirrors and brocks mufflers.

I try not to drop, scratch, damage bikes...try.
Every bike I get I end up doing something stupid with(not the intentionally stupid things either), I mean a boot scratch, kickstand crash, something preventable...no matter how hard I try(I'm partial to my 21 year old leathers, but there's a Suzuki gremlin riding around in those too).
I get a kick out of the guys that get a 1" scratch that can be seen if you lay on the ground to change the oil...and buy a new $600 fairing to replace it with, lmao.
Sh*t happens, keep riding...you might do it again...I would, lol.
laugh it off...count your blessings...go riding

well screw it...
I might as well come clean as well if only to make you feel better.
I've owned 19 motorcycles and this is my first drop.
I dropped my '22 in a driveway 2 weeks ago.
Our campsite for Biketoberfest had a 3" drop off backing it up into the street prior to getting geared up for a ride.
The bike wasn't even running, no shirt, just shorts and sneakers.
Walked back inside covered in gravel with my wife saying...What's all over your back?:banghead:

I hadn't put the side stand down...slowest. fall. Ever.....
September 2005....took it off the rear stand, side stand was up.....took like freakin' 30 minutes, "i-n s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n", to hit the floor. :D

I was stunned !!!......my next thought was, "I can't tell the guys on the ORG that I just did that".

Insurance is cheaper
Not much...then the rates soar with a claim.
Not worth it.
It is insured too, just not full coverage.
We are both 44, clean driving records, cdl's, motorcycle license, great credit, no claims...and still $2400+ a year full coverage is cheapest either of us can find...it's a 3 year old 1k.
Typical bs, and I don't want to turn this into an insurance thread either, because it is what it is, for whatever unforseen reason, been there, done that.
I hit another deer, it sucks, but it happens.
I only posted it again to let the OP not seem so down about a footpeg, lol, poor guy.

Yeow! I pay under $600 a year for full coverage with $1,000 deductibles. I shop around every year for the best prices.

Live and learn, keeping pushing forward in life..no worries.

My first Busa a 2001, I started it up in the driveway and turned around to put my helmet on. Before I even got the strap looped I heard a crunch and turned around to my brand new bike on its side. That was my lesson on the Busa kickstand and I park everything in gear ever since.

Same here. I was under $300 a year for full coverage but once we moved back to Texas insurance was reevaluated after all the flooding and prices skyrocketed. Under $600 year now for full coverage and low deductable..
