Replacing the clutch and doing clutch mod what are the torque specs for basket on gen 1 and any advice

Torque spec on clutch hub nut is 68.5 ft/lb according to the factory manual spec.
DO NOT forget tp center punch the flange part of the nut for security.
Be sure to use a proper clutch basket holding tool to avoid damaging the basket by securing it with any other means.
DO NOT use a rattle gun, you risk over torquing the nut and stretching the thread on the shaft.

Soak the fiber plates in oil ahead of time.
I like to use a small bead of silicone rtv on both sides of the clutch cover gasket.
I let it set up overnight too, and fill the oil the next day.
Is that a Need? No
I just reason that since I'm able to, I will...and I've never had one leak.
I also change the oil and filter after the first hundred miles or so, to get any of the new clutch material, especially from the fiber plates, out of the engine.
Also not technically a Need, but it doesn't hurt when you're trying to make an engine last.
