To all of you that have pics in the upload center !!!!
The upload center will be going OFFLINE in roughly one week. If you have pictures in the upload center that you want then you need to copy them to your hard drive or make sure that you have them somewhere. If you are needing a place to host your bike related pics for free I can still take care of you. If you are needing a place to host your pics at a reasonable cost I can help you too.
Reasoning:
I ran a little test tonight and found that we have over 12,000 pics in the upload center to date and most of them are linking to other places on the Internet. SuzukiHayabusa.org for an example had over 89,000 connections to the upload center this month alone. What that means is that everytime someone looks at a message there and the picture is hosted here I use my bandwidth. There were 3800 different websites linking to us like that this month and I need to limit what I can so that we keep the board running quickly.
Here is what I am going to do.
1. We have provided a public gallery on the hayabusa website and for those that need the URL it is here We provide this service to the members so they can share their bike pics and adventures with everyone. You can sign up for an account at no cost and your automatically get 1 meg of space.
2. The message board has the ability for you to attach images directly to the message which means that you dont need a place to host the image, when you attach an image to your message I store the picture in an SQL database. I prefer it when you attach images to post instead of linking them.
3. If you have a bunch of pics that are bike related and you need more space in the public gallery then I will add more disk space as needed for no fee. Im here to help folks.....
4. If you need a place to host your family pics or pics for other sites then I can change your permissions to allow you to have a public (Bike related) gallery and a private (anything but porn) gallery for a one time fee. I can no longer afford to play picture host for the Internet. I am throwing away speed of the message board and bandwidth every single day. I would love for you guys to use the gallery as a place for your private pics, It would help with the cost of the hardware and circuits and you would get something out of it too.
5. The most important! This site is what we make it, I provide the forum you all provide the content.. I just manage everything for you all.
If you want a private gallery then please contact me, I am going to set up a paypal setting just for this... Please be patient as we transition through this..
