I purchased Paul Gast's busa. After alot of time, work and money I have been able to visit the local track. We have got decent times on it but the carb set-up that paul selected was more for track only. I am a street rider also and was wondering if anyone besides lectron makes carbs for my bike.

I've seen that bike at FBG. The mods look pretty good, I like the rear swing arm mods.
Get a set of Kiehin FCR41, down drafts, Sudco Inc. would be your best bet, they should be able to set the carbs very close to your needs.....

I would think the Keihin 41's are way too small. Thats what people put on R1's!

Stick with the Lectrons, get it on a dyno and tune it with Air/Fuel readings from an EGT. Read the whole RPM range, not just mid- upper range. I am sure that FBG tuned that thing for peak power, not street ability, probably too lean down low. There are a lot of people that run Lectrons on the street down here. May not be as smooth as a Keihin or Mikuni but makes MUCH more power!!

I too saw the bike at FBG. I understand the bike is fairly stock except for the swing arm, sprockets, mucho lowered, straight exhaust, carbs and nitros. All for drag racing. Now you have a drag bike and you want to spend more to put it on the street. I don't understand the logic. Why did you do this?

The bike is totally different than it was when FBG had it. We added a 2 Bros pipe, Schnitz box, shock, Mickey race compound tire and eliminated the bar. The carb setup is too big for the motor we believe because all the bike wants to do is fall on its face out of the hole. We are still in the learning stages on it but I believe when all the bugs are worked out it will be a strong runner.Being a business owner I have limited time to work on or race the bike. In the times we have ran it the 60 foot times are too slow to get a good time. I want to change the gear before I change the carbs. I am currently running a17-42 and want to change it to a 16-42 to pick up my 60 foot. We have plenty of mph at 157. I still need to pick up some pointers on the box and how to adjust.

Here comes one of My secrets.

Use a set of 41 kehins for a gsxr 750.

Now use a set of intake boots for a cbr1100xx.

Let Me know when you get that far?

Hey Jody,
I wish I knew you were serious about buying
a bike I would have sold you mine. You can't
beat that turbo and fuel injection for the street and strip. What other kind of bike can
you go 8:20's on at over 175 and then take
your babe for a good old street cruise?
