I'm in Ft. Worth in a high rise overlooking I-30. A couple of days ago, I heard a bike coming from a ways a way, and I'm 8 floors up. I looked down to see a bike, think it was a Gixxer go flying by, about 120+. He had on full gear, taking traffic well, just looked like he was having fun. About 5 seconds later I see a cop pushing it as hard as he could lights and siren. This bike had a good 10 seconds on him. I watched as long as I could, didn't see the outcome. Bad thing is, the next bike this cop does catch, he is the one that is going to pay. I miss my bike, and I miss being a cop, only sometimes.

I'm all for a good twist, but the right place and right time is important. However, I did enjoy the show.

Like watching a train wreck, huh?

I hope the chase ended in a 'good' way and no one was injured...just no point in running, but I know it happens often...

Running from the cops. Not too sure about it. I did it when I was younger on a dirt bike, but now that I am older and supposedly more mature I think I will just pull over and take my lumps (verses outrunning him/her and possibly risking the lives of others and myself).

Does that make me older, wiser, or just a wuss? (You don't really need to comment on that!

say what you will, but I think we all would run under the right situation. I did it on a regular basis commuting to and from work. On I-40 outside of Albuquerque New Mexico heading east there is a very long hill, about once a month on the way home there would be a highway patrol coming west and they never turned their lights on. But as we would pass each other me going around 95-100 (very safe on this particular strech) I would look in my mirror to see brake lights and the patrol car easing over to the median. They always did this like they were going to sneak up behind me or something. Every time I saw the brake lights I would twist in to the throttle and go into tripple digits for the next 2 miles to the nearest exit which goes to several other surface streets.
I would be over the top of the hill before they evan got turned around, and probally had exited before they got over the hill, so the chance they would catch up enough to evan tell the color of my plate was near 0%. If they had ever turned their lights on before they passed me to catch me in the act instead of try and sneek up on me I would have pulled over. I would never run if it was obvious I was doing so, that would be stupid. But they way I was doing it, I could have claimed to have never seen the cop untill their was flashing lights behind me.

I expect to get flamed for this, but I bet more than 95% of you would do the same under the same conditions. Always light traffic, and an easy escape with only a short burst of speed, then back to normal riding.

I've done it in my car, on bikes, just has to be the right situation. Heck, I was a cop, I know when the time is right.
Dirt bikes growing up, LOL, we all did it. We had one cop try to follow us on dirt bikes, he got high centered, we stopped at the top of the hill, got off the bikes and started laughing at him. If I were only 12 again, man that was fun.

forget it if I'm my Raptor or my TT600, I dare them to catch me. Of course I never ride those where I'm not supposed to, but if they wanted to come out to the dirt and stop me for anything, they would have to catch me!!

Dirt bikes dont even count, its WAY too easy. Its fun to watch them try and beat the shite out of their cars. HAHA.
