bar stop question....

What would anyone recommend to stop the bars about 1/2 inch sooner. Is there something that one could attach to the existing stop that would stick. Weld, drill a hole and put a bolt with washer?? I am trying to deal with brake lever hitting fairing and if bar stopped about 1/4-1/3 inch sooner it would not hit.

I wouldn't want to give up the steering range, prolly a better way to solve the problem, raise the bars, change the lever style/mounting position, something that does not change the STEERING on your bike, u turns etc..

Full left would be the issue.. I just lived with it on my '06
