Air Clutches

Does anyone here have any experience with air clutches? I went to the track on saturday and a couple of guys there were using them. They had 005-008 lights all night, and their 60ft times were in the low 1.30's. I know the bikes are geared and all, but those dayum reaction times are hard to beat. They were also using 2-steps. All night their times were within 3 one thousands of a second. That is dayum consistant!
I guess I am going to have to go that route for next year if I wanna race with the big boys and be competitive. I don't know what else to do.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Anybody got any used stuff for sale? I need some help here, cause this has me totally tripped out!! Never seen anything like that before!

Air clutches? or Shifters?

Easy to mount and wire. But can be dangerous if you dont work them properly. 2 stage lock up clutches are very nice. But if your gonna burn the money and you wanna race the BIG boys go a with 3 stage. You'll never look back!! Unless of course you wanna look back and make sure the other guy actually started the race :laugh:

And as far a those RT goes, thats not a matter of clutch as much as it is wrist and finger action.
I will though admit, that those lock up clutches take a lot off of your nerves when you can just dump it out and go.

You cant just dump and go with a lock up clutch. What you are thinking about is a slider clutch. An Air shifter is what you want. Using an Airshifter will lower your track time by 2 tenths also.

there used to be a mod from Anderson that pumped pressure to the clutch to increase the clamping load but I don't think that's what you're talking about. Probably like others said an air shifter which doesn't improve consistancy of your 60' or r/t.

That two step will really help consistancy

I'll wager he may be talking about a clutch set up using a two step and a delay box. That is how the RT come in. They actually leave off of the top bulb and the delay box launches the bike.

I have an air shifter already. What I am talking about is on the MPS website. It is an air actuated clutch. They are friggin awesome. They do work in combo with a 2step rev limiter. You kind of set them up like a delay box in that you can adjust the time it takes the clutch to release from the time you let off the button.
I agree that the r/t has to do with the wrist and fingers, but, dang these things give you 00 lights all day long!
