Looking from the engineering perspective doesnt look right for me how they mount to the frame as in case of the accident and catching something during the slide frame can be damaged easily...
R&G or Aella are better designed, in case of catching something their housing just breaks.

Damn it I'm on the record as not liking these things as at high speed (let's say above 120mph) if the nose came up unexpectedly from a dip in the road or a wind gust or just twitchy response right when you are wrapping it open, they could suddenly catch air in a way that would be unexpected. Which is why I call most high winglets bike flippers. I also agree that above a certain speed (let's call it 40 mph) they do have a lot of potential to damage the frame.

But at lower speed, abs can't help you if you hit invisible oil on the road right when you hit your brakes. I worry about that because let's say you are in dense traffic on a freeway following a car whose brake lights suddenly slam on when you happen to be directly behind him and you hit invisible oil on the road just when you slam on yours. (I dumped my FJ 1100 doing that). These things might indeed save you some expensive plastic. And I want to hate them but they are lower and wider than conventional winglets which gives them kind of a cool look.

And as the angle is adjustable, I'm kind of curious how much fun it would be to take them out on an empty stretch of road and do some high-speed runs playing with different angles and seeing whether you can feel the downforce or not. I find wings on cars really counterintuitive. Most of them are fixed so they can either reduce drag going straight (which does make sense to me) or produce downforce on fast curves, which I have a hard time seeing. But unless they are active they can't do both so I imagine the compromises make them the worst of both worlds. *They also can have vertical components on the ends of the wing which these things do, and that can provide additional stability at speed. I'm not sure the Hayabusa needs that but maybe mine could use it. I may be the only guy on the Forum with raising links...

I would only trust a factory winglet which was set up in wind tunnel testing.....

Just like you said, it wouldn't take much to unsettle the air flow especially since the Hayabusa is one of if not the most aerodynamic stock bike out there....

But aren't you a little curious to play with an adjustable one?

Honestly......

Not really as I see no real advantage on the street where most people spend very little time at any speeds where a winglet would be effective....

I've had my ''ol beast up to top end high speeds and it was as stable as a couch just the way sits......
