3rd Gen engine differences

I found a 3rd Gen engine for sale locally for $3000. Guy bought it to do a shifter cart, but never finished the project. I was curious if anything retrofits? I have an 05 and was just looking to maybe future projects

Lots of work to fit a Gen2 in a Gen1. Would go into a Gen2 more readily, but still not just a plug and play setup without changing some things and making a few compromises.

It probably wouldn't take much if any fab to get the gen3 engine physically bolted into a gen1.
And so long as it comes with the guages, wiring harness and All of the electronics to run it, it's doeable.
You'll have to do some fab for abs, wheel speed sensors, etc, or just use

to eliminate the abs, and all your gen3 electronic needs.
If the price is right, and all or most of it is there, then it can be done.
