The biggest problem is it is getting to be the norm that politicians are above ethics. They think they deserve special rights. In fact they deserve to be tossed out of office. Most of them.! Let's start over with normal people. It will take at least 4 years before they are corrupted, then we can start over again with new normal people.

Normal people won't run for office; most of them abhore the BS that goes along with it. Besides, would you want someone to go thru YOUR background (not me!)

there are already term limits......

they are called elections.

they occur every 2...4.....and 6 years.

we cannot expect good politicians, unless we elect good men and women to those jobs.

yes sir! but now how do you get the masses involved? and more hard to do is how do you get good people involved? Politics is fought on such an ugly playing field that good people are dragged through a lot of mud real or contrived by people with a lot more money..

Just look at the funding of the last presidential elections.. I think the ratio was 10$ Dem for every $1 Rep spent campaigning? and who wants to back an honest guy?

hell you wont get your pork butt slapped by a good guy...

since i am a republican...i would say what needs to happen is shake up the RNC. your reps, your senators..a few thousand people can make a difference at that level. we start there.

Well since i live in the fine state of South Carolina, and on a daily basis we are told by the NAACP, as well as the DNP, how much of a laughing stock we are ot the rest of the world I have a few things to say..

#1 BOEING
#2 MERASK
#3 Tire Kingdom
#4 Google
#5 Carnival Cruise Line.

All these business have come to SC since all this crap came about..

So to the next Gov of our fine state I have this to say, " do it again, and again and again"

You know it is all politically motivated... there is not a single guy in office that does not pull back office deals and that is just how it works...

the fact is someone is pissed that he's gone off to Argentina and got some strange, the other odd fact is that I think they are beotchin about less than $3000 in total "inproper use" of moneys.... come on, really? 3k? I've seen more than that pissed away for repaving projects that are redone every 3months on the same pot hole :banghead:

Its a witch hunt plain and simple, he pissed off the wrong moral group with his little trip....truth be told he probably coulda spent the 3k and another 3k had the barbie twins to the gov. mansion and thrown the orgy of all orgies and no one woulda said shid cuz they could have seen him the next day

This is what it's really about:

Mr. Sanford’s travel and spending habits came under scrutiny after he admitted to the affair in a tearful, rambling news conference. The announcement left Mr. Sanford, already at odds with his fellow Republicans who control the Legislature, even more isolated in the state and the subject of national ridicule. Mr. Sanford, who built his reputation on principles of frugality and limited government, has resisted calls for his resignation, saying he continues to be a good steward of public resources.

As far as I can tell he has done a great job. Guess he should have used an intern as an ash tray, that didn't seem to matter.
