300 Avon FAT swing arm

I would love to see someone do something nice in this aspect of the big tire conversions,while that TRS looks good on that bike I showed you, The busa looks best IMO with 2 cans.I'm hoping you and your team figure a way to do this,good luck! NJ.

I made a bracket for the directional lights to be sticking out of the holes on the sides of the tail section. this looks pretty cool and as ive cut off most of the underside of the tail there is no place to mount them or the licence plate. im bringing the bike to a very cool shop here in Wallingford for the exhaust connections around the huge schwing arm. The guys at "Miller race cars" have some wild a$$ cars thier working on  building roll cages and exhaust, etc. James and the other guys there are very into this Hayabusa project and I will be taking pix of thier work for this board as well.

BIG problem found tonight. We tried to add the tail section to the Busa with the new swing arm kit and got a big surprise. Let me start by saying that we trimed everything off the undertail section that wasnt absolutely needed. We tried to install the tails frame section and relized that it was so low that the structure of the rear frame wouldnt fit at all. The lowered rear end made the tail impact the tire about 1" INTO the tire...

its been a long day working with this and have found that it just wont work without major mods..........
We even tried removing the entire plastic rear section and still the bars and frame of the tail hit and make the install impossible, i may be venting a bit as i've working on this every night for two weeks and now this...... grrrrrrrrr

The rear foot pegs almost hit the swing arm, the muffler mounts are even lower. The far, rear tail section is right ON the tire and the lower bolt for the tail section is not even in yet...its app. 3/4" from the proper hole.....

as we are putting this new set up together the "mock up" is realy the assembly. We will wait and hear from the swing arms manufacturers who may very well have done a complete mock up and will tell us how to get over this latest hurdle. I have begain designing a shock strut 1" riser that will fix the problem should no other alternatives be found. We will also probably need to make a set of these front end lowering spacers as well.

i made a 1" shock riser to jack up the rear end and allow more room for the tail section. i will test fit it tommorow and let you know how it works. This will make up for the lost 1" that the lower links took away.

This my new shock riser on the strut. i think it will work. we shall see. Not a bad finished piece concidering i made it using a dremal and hack saw....LOL. Not realy, it was made on CNC brideport milling machine.

This is the ride-able, latest version!!! We smoked 'um up right away to be sure everything was where its supposed to be and it worked great! (aaaaaaBit loud though!! open headers, Hee-hee!)The shock needed to have a relief cut made in the swing arms mounting bracket for clearence. Then the rear tail section needed major chopping. The shock needed adjusting for preload and dampening.

you can see where we had to chop the plastic tail section out. we left on as much as possible for some structural strength and we needed a place for the computer and tools, etc. in the future we will close up the back of the under seat area to keep water and dust out and reg and insurance in.
