06 GSXR1000 tail + 04 Busa = lots of work

After seeing muliple guys throw the GSXR tail on the busa I decided it was my time to give it a shot. Before anyone splurges like myself, the 05-06 1000 tail is a complete pain in the ass to fit on the busa frame. There is not one part of the frame that lines up correctly, So to smash any of those rumors out there that it is a bolt on mod.,consider that myth Busted'.,

im going to press on though and fabricate a frame to fit the battery tray/undertail,.

This is why Gregg's customs sells a $1200 conversion sub-frame that DOES make it a "bolt-on" application .

have you seen the greggs kit?? look on their website they show you how they do it. remove the rear subframe the alum piece under the pass part of the tail ,from the front subframe and use tubing to connect then to the busa frame. im getting ready to do it to mine. the greggs kit is for 07-08 1000 tails but the pillion support is the same for both tails. the greggs kit is only $800 which is a good price comes with brackets, custom seat, batt tray and all hardware. check it out.
