You know they never looked right even the day I brought home the bike. So I put them in a lathe and used a brass brush to shine em up. Then they started rusting a couple of weeks later. I am glad too. The new bar looks pretty trick because it also hides the tank tab adn the gold accent matches...
Whats wrong with the garage? Sure its been cleaner but its still doing its job!
Back to the bling.
Got the Sato Racing Tank Kit, they have some nice looking stuff in the brochure that comes with an order.
Here is the before and after, I am pleased. The tank now sits a smidge higher in the...
My light seems to come on with more than a gallon left in the tank but I am not sure. I am around 130-140 when the light comes on. I dont really mess around with it since my commute is 20 miles with no gas along the way. Are you guys posting up the big tank numbers filling it while on the sidestand?
Yeah but if they rust over in month or two that isnt going to work. I may have taken off some protective coating when I polished them I guess a couple of bucks wont break the bank, I thought maybe someone had a nice source for anodized replacements.
It's not great to look down and see rusty washers on my new bike. What have you guys done? I took one into the hardware store with me but wasnt able to find a suitable replacement. I also found the Sato bar and pins but they dont ship here WTF?
Some talk of Harleys so I must say that there is a super fun factor of skidding to a stop on an old Hog. Its loud and it grabs attention! I have done this for fun many times, best done with a buddy for effect and amplification at moderate speeds in a straight line. I haven't tried it on the Busa...
I dont let water touch the bike ever...unless I ride in it! (I am superstitious about water and electronics since I ride AMF era Harleys too!)
Moist Terry cloth towel to get bugs off, if no bugs...
Micro fiber towel sprayed with Griots Garage Detail spray (any would work but I have this one...
I was drooling over those a couple of weeks back. What do you think you will do when its time for a tire change? I think I would worry about the guy using irons on my wheels. I am sure they are tough but a kook has a way of getting though all the properness and going straight to shortcuts and...
I am 6'2" and yes there was a change to the airflow that bothered me for a week. I have a Double Bubble screen. I seemed to have made some sort of adjustment to my posture that has made the wind less noticeable after a few rides but for me I did notice being up in the breeze a little more right...
I am running heli bars and they are seriously comfy. 1/2 hour of your time to install and a good mod IMO. I also did the Buell peg mod and my knees are happier. Soon I will try a Suzuki gel seat and see if the taller saddle position is worth whatever negatives there are. Awesome score on your...
