I think we all may be surprised at the talent that is on the streets. People make wrong turns in their lives all the time and the world passes them by, but a lot just need a nudge to get back on track.
I worked as a clinician in a Psych unit for the VA and was always amazed at the history of some of our patients.

Thread 'NY homeless that live in the tunnels?'

I once saw a show where a reporter went down into the subway tunnels and was interviewing homeless people that lived there. There were many many folks down there. Now I'm wondering with all these tunnels completely under water are those folks ok? Are they floating around down there? Has anyone even brought this up? I haven't seen anyone talking about possible rescue missions to go down and check for survivors?
