So I am doing a laser job for a guy, are you ready for this...

500 WWII surplus grenades.... we are putting their logo on them with the laser.....

Here are some pics of them in the laser as I am doing them 24 at a time..... Of course they are inert and holes have been drilled in the bottom but when the whole assy is in there they look real enough... they are heavy too...

We have removed the pins and fuse assy so we can laze the outside...
3.jpg

I bet its awhile before we get an order that is crazier than this one...

Man I have to tell ya they are HEAVY... I can't imagine hauling these things around... I weighed the one in the pic just as you see it, nothing inside and it came out to 13oz

WOW, with everything assembled it is probably 1lb per grenade.....

Very surprising

That is a neat project .
Post some pics of one after you lase it .
What kind of logo are they having you put on there ?

on another note be careful if you are shipping them back to him ?
If they get scanned the carrier will not be able to tell the diff between those and real live grenades . ATF may come a knocking your door down :)
Should maybe declare them to be inert ?

Cute marketing tool. Those aren't WWII vintage grenades (MKII Pineapple) they're M67's which were the replacmened the M26's & M61's and they are still in service.

I will pass that on :) I can tell you that they are heavy and I will have about 30 left over...

Hmmm what can I put on a grenade that someone would want to buy?

My boss has a gernade mounted on a 2x4 on his desk. On the 2x4, it says, "If you have a problem, take a number." A tag with the #1 is attached to the pin.

That'll be the first grenade I've ever seen with a Kanji on it!

What kind of a message do you think it sends when you have your business card information printed on a hand grenade?

But Black Sheep has a good idea and so does Blanca, laser some up with a Kanji and a "personal" message! You can get into too much trouble these days playing practical jokes with these...I always wanted to take one my 'inerts' and roll it under the stall when my boss was taking a dump...
