I was told by the previous owner of my bike that the subframe had supports (pictured) mounted and was re welded before it cracked. Is this a solution I could be comfortable with you think?

I'm going after an alu subframe for my 02 right now. I'd like to know who cut what off of them to get them down to 3.5lbs? I also have 2 steel subs I'll cut a helluva deal on. One is perfect stock, one has the frank bolt holes removed for a race tail. I also have a 6" extended tail and tiger tail that will be going up for sale really soon too.

I have no ideal... What they would even cut out..if u cut anything out u would have no support at all ,u would think...
