power commander lcd help

i got the pc3 lcd display today, to make it work you have to upgrade the software in the pc3 , this is causing me alot of problems, i can not get it to take the update. followed pages 11/14 on the instructions. still no luck.
the lcd keeps showing no power commander found

You may need to have your Power commander update, with new firmware!

Also are you using a hub?

I wonder if your USB is plugged in fully into the PCIII..........
I discovered mine was not seated in the plug completely....

no hub, just following the instructions on doing this, it gives me the update option, then an error right after.

Mine did the same crap, even though you have the option in the PC software, I still had to use the firmware updater that came with the ignition commander. You can send your pc in for the firmware upgrade.

On another note did you try it with the 9 volt battery adaptor hooked up?
On mine the power goes off after a few seconds if the bike isn't running!

i tried both ways, i will go to a dealer tomorrow and see if they can update the firmware.

from what I have found. You need to upgrade your PC firmware first, make sure you have a 9v battery connected to the PC at all times. After you get your Pc upgraded, upgrade your LCD firmware. Next put a fresh 9v on it. After that, you should be good to go.

I think I got mine working but when i hit map on the LCD it freezes up, have to un-plug it. What do you think.
