Patriotic "Relevant" Dialog

Yeah well here's your sources for your "factcheck"
The article was written in August 14, 2009
Somehow I think the site is possibly biased and DATED and probably
not applicable with the current bill as passed, not to mention it
references the House bill, to bad they passed the Senate bill (case in point)???
(the AARP as a source :rofl:)
(and you criticise the danger of copy, paste, and the internet in regards to Rep.
and something about a brain)

Yes..it is dated but the lines in the bill referring to Illegals and death panels are still applicable....along with everything else i am pretty sure. Honestly hadn't looked at that page in a few months. The bill is still online last i checked. If you get something or see a crying guy on TV reference something all people have to do is look it up. There are plenty of commercial times with people pushing gold :whistle: that they could look it up then.

As far as biased?? I wouldn't think so... Someone provided the link. They have been really good calling BS on both sides. They called BS to the bill being "paid for" already.

Yes i did scold for Copy/paste...before you actually look up some of the stuff. Maybe i should just wait for an email so i can verify it??

Where is the eye-roll don't give a crap icon...oh wait this'll do :moon:

thats not very nice. silent shogun did exactly what the person who started this thread asked. take these 'facts' and argue them.

socrates said the only thing that made him smarter than his peers what the fact that he knew that he didn't know anything with absolute certainty. this mind blowing concept seems difficult for most to grasp today.

and now it appears that senor shogun no longer wants to talk about this stuff not because someone is smarter than him or made him look stupid it is because for whatever reason everyone thinks they are smarter than everyone else and very few can have a rational conversation about such topics which is exactly why det45 started the thead

I am willing to be corrected if any of these facts are false and I will respond with respect to the other persons opinion.

here is a quote from det45's original post. it you are not on this same page then please be polite and allow other than can talk without name calling the opporunity to solve all the countries problems
thank you

OK, It seems pretty evident that he, et al, is trying to crash the system. I got it. 40 years of planning and scheming to "burn baby burn" things appears to be working out.

I just hope the aftermath is as humanely planned out as possible. Maybe a dose of lithium with out ration of rice and beans.

May I ask one simple question for all of us to think about or even respond too; In your opinion do you all think our country is headed in the right direction and do you feel that you will be better off with the current administration? This is a simple question. My opinion is that we are not heading in the right direction nor will I be better off. That is my honest feelings on this matter and I am worried for our country. I thank you all for the dialog.

We are definitely not heading in a better direction. That said, I truly do believe that ALL politicians are corrupt, greedy, can be bought and lie. I am questioning our gov't from the top down and I honestly don't see any way that it will ever truly be "Government of the people, by the people, for the people" until the corruption ends.

Fair question. I agree with VABusa about the corruption. Lobbyists have got to go...that is something both sides agree on, but you never see anyone in office push it. They don't want to hurt the hand that feeds them.

I do not agree with all the things this current administration is doing, just like every administration and pretty much every bill that is passed. I would not go so far as to say " he is planning on making this country Socialist!" as that is a pretty far stretch. He is doing what he thinks will make this a better country, just like Bush did. I agree with the healthcare bill 80%. There are some things I don't agree with, but that is democracy. Give and take. It seems most people want it completely their way or no way at all...that sounds more scary to me than getting your way all the time.... Imagine if one group made all the policies (dictatorship if you will)...sooner or later you would be the one getting treated unfairly.

I don't know what i would label myself for arguments sake as every group as things i don't agree with. I just look at the past at things that were argued about that was said were going to destroy America, our way of life, families, etc..... Social security, medicare/medicaid, Minimum wage, unions, women in the work force, women voting, integration of minorities in white schools and etc, so on and so on.... All of those were seen as the downfall of our society at one point... Over dramatazation... I believe they label that as "progressive"...like i said i don't label myself anything because things change...i change.. I seem to recall nancy reagan?? adamantly against stem cell research until she found out it could help alziemers (her husband).

Long winded...i know. Short answer after the long one.... It's not the end of the world....Our country will go on...and the cycle will repeat no matter who is in office. People will always scream when they aren't the ones in power.

Sorry, if I didn't bother to read your entire list, but the half I did read seems consistent with what has occurred.

All I will say is this: He who pays the piper, picks the tune. We the People did not elect Barack Hussein Obama, just as we did not elect his predecessors for the past 90 years.

I wasn't responding to silent shogun...I was responding to benwoj42 who insinuated
it was "a bit too hard" for me to click...

The point I said about not giving a crap is that the article and source reference
material were not up to date and not accurate. That made "clicking"
to read how wonderful they are...irrelevant...and rather than discuss the topic
Benwoj would rather "discuss" the validity of the site in realation to Bush/Cheney (where's that eye roll icon again).

We are headed towards full blooded Socialism and govt' take over of EVERYTHING,
all under the guise of "for our benifit". How anyone can think we are
moving in the right direction...WOW. :banghead:

I would caution against the easy montra of "all politicians lie" or are corrupt, etc. etc.

We HAVE to get past that as a people, and not just accept it, but expect and
demand more. Search for the corruption and hold them to a higher standards...
the tiger woods "it's all right dog, I woulda done it too"...has got to go. I liken
it to the same vein as people who believe all churches are only about money,
so they sit home and go nowhere without even trying...seek and you shall find.

We must find the politicians with a spine and with INTEGRITY and HONOR rally
around them. NEVER GIVE IN...NEVER GIVE UP.

What gets me is...the people who are for the healthcare bill and all the other
entiltlemens...YOUR LIVING OFF YOUR OWN CHILDREN.
