How smooth doe's aluminum have to be before the chrome plating to have a smooth mirror like reflection. For example, can it have some machine marks, very slight texture, satin brushed finish and still come out smooth or will the texture underneath just show through? Thanks for your help.

Also doe's anyone know a chromer that will chrome stuff other than bike parts?

a lot of good chromers will buff out the parts to a high polish before they chrome them to get that smooth look. what parts you want chromed?

Ya know...every part that you chrome adds 1 to 2 horsepower and2 mph on the top end.:p

No chrome on my bike sir. I like mine plain, stealth, and fast.

There was a post on the chroming process a while ago...
It said that chrome will show every mark and blemish up worse.
That the item to be chromed must have a mirror finish before the chrome is put on as it is such a thin layer it will make the marks more noticeable....
