My perspective on things

One thing the scientists sorta missed in earlier predictions based on scientific fact (which would have the face of this earth drastically changed by as early as 2020...) ?.....the thing they missed was the fact that they never accounted for just how dark the earths soil (until now hidden under the polar ice) would be as the polar ice caps diminished in size exposing the very dark (read: black) earthen soil...key phrase coming up here...

"Which is absorbing the suns heat at a far greater rate than expected"

thereby melting the polar ice caps at an increased epotential rate as opposed to previous scientific calculations and expectations.

God gave us the power of "Free Will"...freedoms to make choices and decisions...choices and decisions that not only define the moral character of our souls by which to be judged but choices and decisions that will go on to have lasting affects on the world our childrens children will go on to inherit...past generations didn't have the technology to see or know how badly the rapidly growing trend of internal combustion engines or the long term damaging affects on the earth...and therein lies the difference..."WE KNOW WE"rE FUGG'IN IT UP!"...but like Joe Dirt?...we just keep on kee'in on!

In a "Why should we care if we screw it up for our children as long as we get ours" mindset?

A few years back?...it was calculated that the amount of BTU's put off by all the vehicles in our nation "alone" in a single given day equalled the same BTU energy as given off by TEN as in (10) of the same nuclear bomb we dropped on Heroshimo.

The real question here to me is..why....why when it comes to common sense things do we get DIVIDED....seemingly into groups of those who "Focus" and those who are so readily willing to turn a blind eye?....could it be...Bipartisan Politics?.....could it be "Greed"?....could it be "greed driven politics"?....is it a shame?...could it be a sin?..is it possible that god has a sense of humor as well as poetic justice that he just may speed up the process to deliver onto us what "some/most" of us were so willing to hand down to others?...

a planet that is progressing expotentially towards ecological ruin?

I'm go'in with "You Betcha" on alllll of the above.

jmh thoughts and L8R, Bill.

...and as we continuually build on top of the soil, the concrete absorobs more heat as well.

The opposite can occur if we reflect too much heat and cause a "Snowball Earth" effect.
