My First Date...with Ms.Busa

Man, after riding the 2002 Katana 600 we bought the Busa. Man....... I remember, as the first bike I even sat on, I thought I was Tuff Stuff riding that 600 around town. Tried to do wheelies on it, couldn't but I got on that thing! Had an M4 muffler.

Now 3 months later we got the Busa, being the second bike I even sat on. Climbing onto it, and knowing what it was, felt like getting into a Ferrari. Felt so different from the Kat. It was an all stock 03 5k miles in 2004. That night my GF rode it down the highway around Tomball and man I was so mad she was taking a long time lol but then it was my turn!

The bike sounded like a contained beast, wanting to burst out. I took it easy down the highway and turned around at FM2920, then on the feeder I got on it shifting at 7.5k that thing almost ripped me off the bike lol. And everytime it shifted the thing bucked and pulled me back lol. I was like DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! Had a grin all the way back, I was screaming in my helmet lol.

(toastman @ Mar. 16 2007,19:09) ps What was your first impression when you cracked the throttle the first time?
I too had a long layoff as my last bike was an '85 Ninja900 which I got rid of in '89.

Well, before I knew it, I broke 120mph merging onto the freeway the first night I rode the busa home from the dealership!! When I looked down and finally saw how fast I was going, I couldn't believe it! My biggest challenge the rest of the way home that night was throttle control!!

Tip toed home from the dealership on city streets. It had been 12 years since I had been on a bike.

I nearly dropped it in the dealer parking lot but saved it pretty easily.

After two years and 28,000 miles, It's been one of the best things I've ever ridden.

Thanks to all for your humorous enlightenment!! Good laughs!
I was out yesterday for about 3 hours, along with every other 19 year old on a 600 cc penis extension. I had to laugh as I would see them coming up through traffic behind me. They would finally get up to me at a light, say the usual "Yo...hows it going dood", stare at the Busa in awe, and then proceed to try and impress me on their splitting lanes and weaving through traffic skills....WOW very impressive. Then I would ride on with traffic, and enjoy the sunny day, till the next one came by for a visit. I was 20 once, 21 years ago, it was fun also at the time...

Cheers,

Tony

It was the first bike that got me truly excited! And I mean excited! I felt like I was in a viagra commercial. Never had a motorcycle make me that happy before. When those RPMs got over 7000, the wheel wasn't the only thing that popped up!

Also I have to add... Until late last year when I did the sprocket change, I could not stop speeding on accident. Cruising the highway at 65 was a task I have not gotten down without making my wrist uncomfortable. I try 65, look up and cruise, look down and Im doing around 80. That thing is too smooth in 6th and you can't tell you are accellerating! Only way to do it was stay in 5th gear or do sprocket change lol.

Congrats on the bike. When I first got mine I rode it like a 90 year old man behind the wheel of his Impala. First time I opened her up--my first thought was "this is fast--but not that fast"--then I looked down at the speedo. HOLY CRAPOLA--there must be something wrong with the speedo--how did it get WWWWAAAAYYYY UP THERE?
