not sure if this is the rite spot on the boards.........

I'm wanting to know if i have a 2000 model busa, will any 99 and up motor work into my 2000 model??

does a newer motor have need it's corresponding ecu, etc for it to work?

99 and 00 are the same!
01 is all by its self,
02 and up are the all basicly the same!
 
i guess my real question is can i swap motors seamlessly if i go outside a 99 or 2000 model year?
It is not that difficult. The ignition pickup rotor has a different number of notches on it and will need to be swapped from the old motor. Maybe the fuel rail. Seems like there is another minor difference when swapping. Just keep your old one until your are done so you'll have everything you need. There is no need to change to the late ECU but it can be done. Requires quite a bit more work.
 
Remember to contact the DMV re the new engine number.
