MAJOR PROBLEMS

Just a note, if it's the Tip Over Sensor you'll see the FI light turn on and a fault code C23 will be displayed. I also believe you would need to turn the ignition switch off and back on to reset the FI light and code.

If that's not happening I'd probably rule out the TO sensor and circuit.

Kickstand switch does sound VERY possible.

As simple as a loose connection causing a short/ground at the battery maybe???

..I second that.. electrical VERY LIKELY..

..however..

..I remember once, on my ex-ride (a yamaha XTZ-660) some jerk had messed with the air-box filter, and had re-directed the engine "fumes" hose IN THERE WITH SILICONE, resulting in awkward behaviour between 5-6k.. Hose removed, problem solved..

Problem solved.
1- put Busa on rear stand cranked her up and opened throttle in 1st. At ~8k kick stand gradually drops causing ignition sensor to temporarily shut rpms off.

2- Replaced my kick stand last night and now she's purrin as usual.

Thanks for all the input people.

i had same problems with a 2000 model it was the tiny filter in the fuel pump
i cleaned it and all is well
