Starting with the 2014 AE Edition, the passenger rearsets were black from the factory. The driver rearsets were never black from Suzuki. @Rojo's bike had lots of work done to it including the powdercoating.
Any year came come in black if you paint them......I used truck bed liner on mine and they've stood up well over the years.....

I don’t think there was ever a gen2 that came with front black footrests. Before I switched my OeM to aftermarket, I had removed them and took them to a powder coating business and had them done in black.
Interesting, I only remember seeing the rears in black certain years.
I did a little researching and all I saw were aluminum/silver ones.....there were black ones in my search but it's hard to tell if they were painted like I did to mine....
