...I'm also going to take BT's advice and call color-rite directley to get the paint code for the fairing.
Do me a favor will ya? Let me know if color-rite has the 04 black/purple info yet. I don't need any right now but you never know. I just want to be up to date on availability and I'll never remember to call and check until I end up needin' it.

Oh, and if you think about it, see if they have the '04 SE red info yet. I've already got a local busa lined up for an SE red paint job as soon as I have a place to do it. That color with my prep work under it and my slick ass clear coat job over it should be fuggin' killer!

I just hope the color is available when I'm ready to get started on it. He's ready for his paint job NOW!

That blows! Sounds like I'm looking into sliders,
Cost and install anyone?
Link no longer works to get the current price on the ones I have from the place I bought mine from. I think they're around $49 now. As for install, there are several threads here on slider install. It's pretty simply but it takes some guts to make that first hole in a set of pristine fairings.

I used a hole saw and a dremel tool to make the holes. The trick is marking where the holes go. Lots of good ideas in some older threads in the Mods section of this site. Maybe someone has them bookmarked. I don't, and I have never had any luck with the search feature on this site.

Oh yeah, here's a pic of mine installed and polished up with Zaino.

Sorry to hear about the drops. Make sure you keep an eye on that stator cover. Those things are tissue thin. Mine was weeping oil and it only looked about as scratched as yours.

Thanks BT, I'm going to order them. Don't know if I have the guts to cut the holes.

I wasn't able to find a thread with instructions. I'll see what comes with the sliders!

Thanks for the threads, very helpful! I still don't know if I have the balls to cut. The instructions do make it sound like a mechanical idiot such as myself can do this
