We could meet up with you somewhere north of Denver. That is the route we are taking. 2 day trip with a stop over somewhere in Colorado. Anyone have any idea where a good place to stay on the WEST side of Denver?

Stay away from the ski resorts area, Vail etc. their rates are always high year round, if you have to, check the motel rates ahead of time. just walking in will not get you a good price.
If you can, go to Grand Junction, 245 mi (4hrs) west of Denver on I-70, reasonable rates there, Motel 6 etc.
best to always call ahead of time.
